Week of September 13th – 19th

For this week and on, I have made the decision to switch up the blog. I know that looking at articles from the newspaper can get boring at times, so I am going to start publishing things like recipes, animal nesting materials, how to rescue animals, and how to take care of some animals. I thought this would be the best way to make things a little more interesting, but at the same time we are still keeping everything agriculture related!

So lets get started with out first entry to our new and improved Agriculture blog!

This entry is a recipe on how to make “real” hot cocoa.

Here it is…

  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons (1.5oz/42.5g) honey
  • 2 cups (16 fl oz/473 ml) warm milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.3 ml) vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) powered milk (optional)

Blend the cocoa and honey in a cup. Slowly add a warm amount of warm milk to make a syrup. Pour the syrup into the remaining milk and add the vanilla. (If you want richer cocoa, put it into a blender and blend in the powdered milk) Heat the cocoa until hot but not boiling, and serve (yields 2 servings)
